THE MASTERCLASS

The online Masterclass will take place on October the 3rd 7 p.m. Eastern Time. Save the date.

It will be a Zoom Meeting. We use Zoom because it has a feature called Original Sound for Musicians. That means you’ll hear a clear sound without any supression or interruptions. If you’re not familiar with Zoom, take a couple minutes to check this tutorial: Joining a Zoom Meeting

Think about some questions to bring

Sep. 30th: Google Classroom link and Preparatory Exercises available.

Oct. 3rd, 7 p.m. ET: The Masterclass.

7 p.m.: Introduction and beginner part of the arrangement.

In the first 30 minutes, you’ll get to know Tom and he’ll explain the preparatory exercises and warm-ups, their technical purpose and how to approach them. We’ll play them together and then procceed to play the actual arrangement. We’ll also cover expression tips, how to use both hands well, rhythm management, melodic clarity and more. Within the last 10 minutes, we’ll open up for questions.

7:30 p.m.: Intermediate part of the arrangement.

We’ll go through the intermediate preparatory exercises and warm-ups. We’ll play them together and then procceed to play the actual intermediate arrangement. For the intermediate part, chords play a significant role, we’ll cover that as well and reserve the last 10 minutes to more questions and insights from the students.

8:10 p.m.: Advanced part of the arrangement.

We’ll explain and play the advanced preparatory exercises and warm-ups. We’ll play them together and then procceed to play the actual advanced arrangement. For the advanced part, out-of-ordinary chords, bass lines, dynamics and tone variations are vital, we’ll cover that as well and analyse it’s harmony and reserve the last 10 minutes to more questions and insights from the students.

8:50 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Last Q&A and more insights.

At the end of the Masterclass, you’ll have the chance to share any insights you have and talk about your experience.
